Not Guilty of Everything
For some reason I just needed an outlet to depict the angriest voices I could find. These large collage paintings on tar paper were the solution. I have shown these at Ann Nathan Gallery in Chicago and at the Duke University Museum of Art.from NOT GUILTY OF EVERYTHING series, oil/tarpaper, 3x4', 1994

I returned to the circus performers on a larger scale in 2003. In this case all the performers were human and placed in fantastical circumstances. There is an emphasis here on solitary, lonely practice and a de-emphasis on the crowd.

I have recently painted a few landscapes for the first time. I can't seem to escape the darkness and the odd detail.

The following airplanes are a few of the one hundred planes I made for the North Carolina Museum of Art for their centennial celebration of the first flight. These planes were installed outdoors on a large sloping field approaching the museum entrance. This installation was part of a larger show entitled DEFYING GRAVITY. The project took me a year to build and install. It was on display for five months in 2003. The size of these pieces range from a four inch wingspan to a fourteen foot wingspan.

The following four pieces are a few samples of some of my collages. I tend to do collage when I am stuck on other projects.
