PATINAS ON COPPER /LARGE PANELS

In 1993 I began working with patinas on copper on a much larger scale. These are three of eighteen works on 3 by8 foot copper panels. Using chemicals to paint on copper is elusive in that the chemicals are transparent like water and the images/color doesn't appear for from several hours to several days after applicaton. It was the randomness of the result that attracted me to this process.

CIRCUS PAINTINGS

The following are a few of the paintings I have done of circus performers. When I began , most the the performers were anthropomorphized animals. Later, I used human performers but put them in impossible circumstances or doing nearly impossible tricks.
